Frequently Asked Questions

What is Remedial Massage

Remedial Massage is a natural therapy that treats muscles sore, tense, damaged, or immobile

Can a remedial massage therapist treat certain conditions and injuries?

Yes we can, we can certainly test for chronic conditions such as shoulder injuries, back injuries, hips and knees.  We can treat the symptoms and work with other allied health professionals such as Physios, osteopath's, Chiropractors and GP's.

Is a remedial massage painful?

Yes it can be painful, but, we want to help you heal not torture you.  I work with your own pain tolerance, on a scale of 0-10, 10 being excruciating. Everyone's pain tolerance varies, depending on condition, toelerance and inflammatory level. If its too painful, we can usually tell and will ease back, or you can let us know it is to much.

How will I feel and What should I do after a massage?

As remedial massage involves deep tissue and trigger point therapy, you can feel a little bit bruised and sore afterward, this is normal.  It can sometimes take a couple of days for the muscles to respond.  You should drink plenty of water afterwards and avoid any heavy lifting for 24 hours.
